Many pregnant women consult osteopaths throughout their pregnancy and for post-natal care. Osteopaths work with women throughout all trimesters to reduce pain, improve mobility and function.
Our osteopaths have completed further study and have a special interest in the treatment of pregnant women.
Common conditions we have experience in treating/managing:
- Pelvic pain
- Lower back pain
- Mid to upper back pain and tightness
- Rib pain and tightness through the diaphragm that may result in difficulty taking deep breaths
- Hip pain
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
We provide support to help minimise pain, improve mobility and function. We do this through hands on treatment, exercise prescription, assessing biomechanics and posture, positioning advice and movement options.
We pride ourselves on prescribing personalised exercise and rehabilitation programs, which are specific to each individual & tailored toward their goals and needs. We strive to provide the best available evidence-based practice, including encouraging women to remain active throughout the duration of their pregnancy.
We provide advice on pelvic floor health, about strengthening and relaxing your pelvic floor muscles, and education on the importance of a healthy pelvic floor before and after birth. We also work very closely with Pelvic Health Physios ensuring the best outcome for you.
